Body scan meditations are a common way to integrate more mindfulness and self-awareness into your day. The concept of a ‘body scan’ is to scan through your body, from the top of your head down into your little toesies, so that you can identify: areas of tension, areas of comfort, any current emotions or thoughts and how they impact the body, and ways to shift your body and/or your thoughts to create more comfort.
The idea is to focus on these sensations without judgment. You can desire to change the sensations, but simply recognizing they’re there is a major step in moving them through you especially if they’re uncomfortable.
