Youth Workshops
Values in Action: Navigating Life with Values and Resilience
Event type: Workshop, hands on. 45 minutes - 4 hours. Skillset shift.
Audience: High school seniors, but can be structured for any age group from 6th grade-12th grade and into college.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify Personal Values: Students will articulate their core values and understand how these values can guide their decision-making and future goals.
- Recognize Cognitive Distortions & Develop Positive Thinking Patterns: Students will identify their biggest worries, and how those worries impact their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They will be able to identify distortions in thinking, and how to counteract them.
- Build Coping Skills: They will learn coping skills and strategies from dialectical behavioral therapy to cope when they’re feeling stressed by recognizing the ways their Mind and Body are involved in negative feelings like anxiety and anger.
- Create a Personal Action Plan: Participants will develop a personalized action plan that incorporates their values, coping strategies, and positive thinking techniques to prepare for the transition to the next phase of life.
Optional add-on: Some schools choose to incorporate a handcrafted fragrance oil that can be used for enhancing sensory input that can reduce cortisol, nourish the nervous system, and create a proxy for positive emotions. Students will learn to make their own fragrance oil with nervous system, dopamine, serotonin, and cortisol supportive natural scents.
Rooted Resilience: Integrating DBT Skills with Mind, Body, and Earth
Event type: Workshop, hands on. 45 minutes - 3 days. Skillset shift.
Audience: Students 6th grade-12th grade and into college.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand Key DBT Skills: Students will learn essential DBT skills, including mindfulness and emotional regulation.
- Enhance understanding of emotions: Students will break down our primary and secondary emotions, and learn how each emotion feels in their body. They'll begin to understand how some emotions are easier to feel than others, and some emotions can actually hide more vulnerable ones.
- Practice Mindfulness: Participants will engage in mindfulness exercises that connect their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations to their environment.
- Enhance Emotional Resilience: Participants will develop strategies for distress tolerance and emotional regulation using nature-based practices.
- Foster Community Connection: Participants will build interpersonal effectiveness skills through group activities that promote support and empathy.
- Create Personal Action Plans: Participants will design an actionable plan to integrate DBT skills and nature practices into their daily lives for ongoing well-being.
In these workshops, the amount of learning objectives that are addressed will directly correlate with the amount of time we have. These workshops can be across multiple days, to get into the core components of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. We can focus on one module at a time, or incorporate elements of each into a single session.
We will use a Mind, Body, Earth framework that will address these components of the self and how they are impacted by anxiety and stress, and how we can use them as anchors for healing.
Roots of Mindfulness: Cultivating Mindfulness in Nature
Event type: Workshop, hands on. 45 minutes - 4 hours. Skillset shift.
Audience: Students 6th grade-12th grade and into college. Can also be formatted for K-5.
Brooke Marie Bridges, our founder, is also a farmer and herbalist, and teaches about nature connection, herbal remedies and fragrance for healing, and how to utilize gardening and being with plants to soothe the nervous system. These special workshops are specific for schools with a sustainability or gardening program with a garden onsite, or a community garden nearby. These workshops can range from one day, to multiple days over the course of a quarter, or a year.
Learning Objectives:
• Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance skills through the lens of nature connection.
• Information about how gardening has been proven to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and fatigue.
• About plants that are safe for teens to use that help with nervous system support.
• How to make their own herbal tea blends, fragrances, and self-care products.
In these workshops, students will learn about the scientific evidence behind getting your hands in the soil and your feet on the ground, and engage directly with the garden at their school alongside Brooke.
Custom Workshops
For these workshops, we will collaborate with the school to create a custom workshop that accomplishes the goals of the school community. When considering a custom workshop, think about your pain point.
Are you struggling to support the teens in your school with the proper skills and tools to manage their emotional challenges? Do the kids in your school need assistance with conflict transformation? Do they need a better understanding of their emotions?
These workshops can range from 45 minutes - 6 hours, to multiple days, and will range in price from $2500-$8500 depending upon the details, time, and supplies needed. Pricing is also negotiable based on budget.
These offerings can be customized entirely to the exact needs of an individual person, a community, or a retreat.
Retreat & Workshop Offerings
Herbal Consultations
Herbalism is for everyone, but not all herbs are for everyone simply because they are good for a symptom.
These herbal consultations are valued at $160 for 60 minutes, and include discussions on a person's holistic wellness goals (from skincare to physiological health, to manifestation support), their general energetics and constitution, and lifestyle.
Once these things are determined along with the ailments and what would like to be resolved, specific herbs are selected and fine tuned for the specific person, NOT the symptom, so that the herbal formulas can help to treat the root cause.
Mother & Postpartum Specific
As a Mother, this brand was founded on my experience in pregnancy and postpartum and wanting all natural alternatives to self-care products that I love. In this offering, I share herbs as well as body care products specialized and tailored to the Mother.
All Natural Self-Care Products
I handcraft all natural skin, hair, and self-care products that are nourishing and beautiful on the skin, and great for our bodies and the environment. If you're looking to add something to gift bags or favors for your retreat guests, please do reach out to me!
Pop-Ups: Tea & Fragrance
These pop ups are great for fairs, galas, and conferences. Depending on what the community is looking for (herbs that support immunity, the nervous system and stress relief, digestive support, etc) herbs and natural fragrances are brought to the event so that guests can be a part of handcrafting their very own tea blends and fragrance roller oils.
Guests will learn about the different herbs and fragrances present and how they interact in and on the body, be guided toward which herbs would work best for them, and take home teas and roller oils that are customized for them.
Herbal Workshops
Whether you're looking for a workshop around wild medicinal foraging, medicine making, natural skin care crafting, introduction to holistic herbalism, or using herbs as a part of healing, I can customize a talk just for you and your guests.
Healing through Nature
As an herbalist, farmer, and nature-lover, Brooke shares the magic of nature with audiences in hopes they utilize it as a resource for healing. This is a presentation best done outside when the weather is nice.
Brooke will lead participants on a foraging walk where they will identify wild medicinal plants, and learn grounding techniques in nature.
If desired, a gardening workshop where participants can plant their own flowers with pots, seeds, and soil provided by Brooke will be present.
Custom Talks
Brooke has developed custom presentations, keynotes, and workshops over the years for different needs and desires. If you're looking for something special and customized, please let us know!
Workshops/Storytelling
Social Emotional Learning Through Storytelling
Brooke's keynote presentations tend to get kids inspired and motivated to start sharing their stories and discussing the challenging emotions that they've been dealing with.
In 2020, Brooke developed a curriculum that paired the 4 pillars of SEL with storytelling as a vehicle for understanding.
The 4 pillars are: Mindfulness, Emotional Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Responsible Decision Making. Storytelling is the 5th, so we can begin to understand how our own stories fit within those learning objectives.
In these workshops, Brooke goes over the 5 pillars of SEL, and how to begin sharing our own stories with those we know and those that we don't, so that we can build understanding, compassion, and resilience.
This is a great workshop for youth groups, after school programs, youth centered nonprofits, and other youth-focused groups.
2025 Retreats
In 2025, we will be hosting a handful of retreats: from 1-day to 5 days. Our 2025 Retreat season is called:
Roots to Renewal: Unearthing the Authentic Self
In this retreat we will be softly guided into alignment with our truest, deepest selves through exploratory mindfulness, self-awareness practices, herbal medicine, fresh farm to table food, habit creation and release, movement, and techniques that connect our cognitive sphere (thoughts) to our bodies (somatic). In the end, we will leave with practical tools, sensory reminders, and gratitude practices to carry us through the next phase of our lives, whatever that may be.
This retreat is an opportunity to ground, understand the stories that have shaped you, and identify opportunities for growth and change in order to create the most authentic, effective version of you.

-
JDI Tea & Fragrance Pop Up
"I am still glowing from the event on Tuesday! Thank YOU for making it so special! Folks loved your offerings and I can't wait to keep you connected to the JDI community. PS: I LOVE the oils I purchased!"
-
MYM presentation
“I just wanted to reach out and tell you how blown away I was by Brooke's presentation today. I received more positive feedback from students and faculty alike than I have on any other mental health programming I've brought in. She was relatable, personable, and most importantly, hopeful. Our Q&A was fantastic, and the line to meet with Brooke after the event was many students deep."
-
MYM Presentation: High School Student
"I think it was very informative. Many young people likely appreciate Brooke as well as me because of how open and vulnerable she is to share her story in hopes of helping others. I can relate to some of her experiences which feels very validating but I think that it is still helpful for people who can't relate because it is giving them insight on how to support others. One thing I took away from her presentation was DBT. I've tried multiple different types of therapy before but I would definitely be interested in this and will look into it more. I'm very grateful for people like Brooke."
-
MYM Presentation: High School Student
"I thought Brooke’s presentation was insightful because many high schoolers today deal with mental illness and most often are undetected from themselves and the information Brooke provided being her story can give other people the idea that maybe they are struggling with a mental illness and should seek help."
-
MYM presentation: School Counselor
"Brooke was amazing and delivered such an impactful message! She truly is great at what she does! Ryan and I were talking and think she would be a great person to have come back and talk to other audiences as we continue to move forward in the process of impacting our entire school community. Brooke certainly set the bar exceedingly high from my perspective!"
-
MYM Presentation: Middle School Teacher
"Thank you so much for presenting virtually to our students. The feedback from students and teachers has been nothing but positive. Your story really spoke to our school community and seemed to resonate with a lot of our students."
